ON Monday, August 22, the seniors at Downes Crediton Golf Club played the annual captain’s cup and it saw Robin Abrahams steal the show with an incredible 46 points to take home the Division One prize.

Peter Caston finished second with 43 points.

In Division Two the scores were just as superb as Den Conibear scored 42 points to win while Peter Johnson scored 40 to finish second.

Nick Murch won the mid-week stableford on Wednesday, August 24 with a score of 43 points.

Tracey Chandler took the week’s ladies county stableford on Thursday, August 25, with a score of 37 points while Linda Gill finished second with 35 points.

In the nine-hole stableford Stephanie Moffat scored 14 points.

The winner of the nine-hole stableford was John Huskinson who scored 22 points.

It was the team of Darren Russell, Matt Russell and Matt Slee who came out on top on Saturday, August 27 with a score of 56 (14 under) to take this year’s Ray Shire Trophy, while finishing in second was the team of Tracey Chandler, Ed Gallios and Robert Whittleston who scored a 59 (11 under).

In third place was the team of Stephen Pulmer, Mark Kahn and David Bunclark who also scored 59 (11 under) but lost to a better back nine.

Sue Jackson and Jim Dunlop won the mixed pairs on Sunday, August 27 with a stableford score of 46 points.
