A LONGSTANDING member of Crediton and District Swimming Club has won a half marathon and come third in a triathlon.

Honorary Treasurer Natalie Rees was the first female across the finish line of the Endurance Life Half Marathon on Saturday, May 10.

The race began at Martinhoe on Exmoor and saw 2,822 feet of elevation gain.

“Coming in fourth place at around seven kilometres with massive blisters, I decided it would be longer and more painful to walk back, so I ran quicker and overtook three runners to come in first place by two minutes,” said Ms Rees.

She was also the third female to finish Sportiva's Torbay Spring Sprint Triathlon on Monday, April 7.

Crediton and District Swimming Club was formed in July 1999.
