LOCAL golfer, Russell Cram scored a superb 41 points at Downes Crediton Golf Club on Wednesday, August 17 to win the mid-week stableford.

The ladies held an invitation day on Thursday, August 18, which saw ladies from all over the county play, but it was the pair of Lyn Parry and her partner Elaine Bright who scored a fantastic 42 points to win.

The partnership of Annet Coles and Bev Connell also scored 42 points but lost to a better back nine.

Ian Gillard scored 24 points to take the nine-hole stableford on Thursday, August 18.

Downes Crediton Golf Club celebrated the Annual Captains Day on Saturday, August 20 and with the blind pairs format it was always going to be a bit of fun.

Peter Blinkhorn and Sue Bond, who came out on top with an incredible 48 points, were followed by the pair of David Taylor and the club captain Tim Keehner who scored 47 points to finish second.

The pair of Tony Wonnacott and Colin Ray finished third with a score of 47 points, but lost to a better back nine.

This year’s mixed Tomkins trophy winners where June Mitchell and Jim Dunlop as they scored 47 points take home the trophy on Sunday, August 21.
