ZEAL Monachorum Village Hall will be looking beautiful on Saturday, March 16, when it holds its Spring Flower and Homecraft Show.

There is still time to enter and the schedule is available from the Secretary 01363 82571 or on the website: http://www.zealmonachorum.org.uk/village-hall.html .

The Hall Chair, Erica Eden, said that it is free and easy to enter, explaining that those who want to enter can just turn up on the day at the Hall between 10am and 12 noon with their entries.

She added that advice will be available as to the correct class if, for example, you don’t know your large cup from your small cup daffodils.

She explained: “You don’t need to have any special knowledge or experience of showing.

"Many of the classes are straightforward and not difficult to make such as jar of jam or three savoury scones.

"I’m hoping that my garden will give me daffodils to enter without any effort from me except picking them on the day.

"I found it very satisfying when I came first with grape hyacinths one year.”

There is an Easter theme for some of the entries including Simnel cake, a handmade Easter card and a decorated hard-boiled egg.

All classes are open to children as well as adults - the children’s entries will be judged separately.

The Hall opens to the public at 2.30pm, admission £1, children free.

Refreshments will be available.

The Prize Giving will be at 3pm followed by an auction (exhibitors choose whether to put their exhibits into the auction) and a Prize Draw.
