HALF TERM for three young Yeoford girls was spent getting support for their plea for the play area in the village to be kept and maintained.

Queen Elizabeth’s School pupil 11-years-old Robyn Rogers with her nine years old sister Freya and 10-years-old Ella Wholey, both Yeoford School pupils, have collected at least 100 signatures for the play area.

When they present it to Crediton Hamlets Parish Council at its March meeting, they will say they are representing the children of Yeoford.

They say that Crediton has more ways of raising money, more shops, Yeoford has none - “it is only a small community which makes it hard to keep our playground up to scratch,” they say.

They explain that it has been classified as dangerous because it is more than 20 years old. “We are in desperate need of new equipment,” they say.

The petition was Robyn’s idea. The three explain that they want to keep the play area for the children of all ages who live in the village, somewhere for them to go and enjoy themselves together.
