PUPILS and staff at Landscore Primary School enjoyed World Book Day on Thursday, March 2.

They were invited to dress up as a book character and there were some amazing costumes.

Judith Harris said: "The children all made a great effort and looked absolutely fabulous.

"The staff joined in with the fun too, dressing in a range of costumes and staff in Team 2 who took their inspiration from ‘The Day the Crayons Quit’ dressed as wax crayons.

"Pupils were also asked to decorate a potato as a book character and the results were stunning.  There were 'Mr Men' and 'Little Misses', the Lazy Ladybird, Super Potato and an Egyptian Mummy.

"Pupils also had the opportunity to listen to staff reading from some of their favourite books, and The Bookery visited with their travelling bookshop.

"Pupils in Years 3 and 4 walked to The Bookery during the afternoon and came back clutching new exciting books to read."
