JUST like Santa’s elves, the Christmas in Crediton committee, a sub-group of Crediton Town Council, which comprises a number of town and business representatives and volunteers has been working hard since January planning this year’s Christmas in Crediton event.
The theme for the event on Saturday, November 24, will be Winter Wonderland and everyone is being encouraged to embrace the theme and dress up.
Suggestions include a snowman, penguin, igloo, ice Queen or King and anything around that theme.
The event around the Town Square will run from 3pm to 6.30pm with singing, dancing and live music.
The Big Lights Switch-On in the Town Square will be at 5pm.
Due to popular demand the Exmouth Land Train will be returning to offer rides during the afternoon.
The annual fancy dress competition for those aged 11 and under will be held in the Old Town Hall. Judging will start at 4pm, so all should arrive in plenty of time to register.
This year there will also be a new augmented reality Christmas Elf Hunt, courtesy of Yellow Mouse Studios.
The Christmas in Crediton team has invested in some new cross-street decorations and 25 triple star illuminations.
These will be interspersed between the Christmas trees which will be on shop and business fronts of those who contribute.
Businesses which wish to have a tree are asked to ensure they book before the end of October by contact Clare or Emma at the Crediton Council Offices on 01363 773717 or email: [email protected] .
