CREDITON Museum will be open for a few hours on Saturday afternoon, November 25 – the day of the Christmas Lights Switch-on – with a display of old photographs from the Crediton Area History and Museum Society Archive.

“Our collection contains hundreds of old photographs of Crediton and the local area,” says CAHMS Chair Tony Gale, who added: “Lots of them include people who we haven’t identified. Who are they?

“We’ll have just a small selection on view this Saturday – come in and see if you can recognise anyone, or tell us more about the places, the dates, or the events in the photographs.”

Who do you think they are? Here’s a clip of one photo from the Queen’s visit to Crediton in 1956 – showing part of the crowd lining St Lawrence Green.
