THE village of Cheriton Fitzpaine held its second annual Wassailing evening on Saturday, January 20, and it was a colourful, noisy and fun experience for all those who went along.
Everyone gathered outside the Ring of Bells after which there was a procession from the pub to Jack’s Acre, the playing field in the village, where some new apple trees had been planted for the occasion.
The event included performances by the Great Western Morris, a fire juggler, witches, children’s entertainer, singing, live music, apple bobbing, cider and apple juice tasting and apple cake for all.
There was a Wassailing Queen, Prince and Princess, singing and food available at the pub until 9pm.
