FIRST Chulmleigh Scouts have been chosen as one of three finalists in the RGB Building Supplies Well Built Community Fund, which re-opened for votes this week.

Out of all entries received, judges came up with a final three and it is now down to the public to decide who receives £1,000 worth of building materials.

First Chulmleigh Scouts need to protect their equipment and currently have two sheds which are no longer fit for purpose. The sheds house the group’s canvas tents which need to be kept dry when not in use and all the equipment that enables them to provide activities such as climbing, archery and hill-walking.

These activities ensure children and young adults in Chulmleigh and the surrounding areas grow up with a wide range of skills, a healthy respect for themselves and their community, and a sense of adventure.

If First Chulmleigh Scouts win they would like to use the £1,000 donation to carry out repairs and improvements to their two equipment sheds.

The other two groups are Exeter Division Guides and Stithians Scouts.

The public can vote for who they would like to receive the £1,000 worth of building materials by one of three ways:

1. By visiting RGB’s South Molton, Exeter or Porthleven branches and placing a chip in the relevant box;

2. By visiting RGB’s Facebook page or

3. By emailing: [email protected] and putting the name of the group they would like to win in the subject box.

Votes can be cast until midnight on Sunday, January 29. Votes cast outside of this time will not be counted and can only be made at a branch during normal opening hours.

Only one email vote per email address will be counted.
