CREDITON Area History and Museum Society, which runs Crediton Museum, urgently needs to find volunteers to fill a couple of essential roles.

The Society’s treasurer is looking to retire after more than a decade in the job. As there isn’t a huge turnover, there is not a great deal involved in the role.

However, reasonable skill with internet banking and spread sheets is essential.

Regular outgoings for the Society are rent for the museum, telephone and broadband costs, annual fee to “Find my Past” and payments to speakers.

Income comprises Individual and Corporate payments by Friend of the Museum, income from Crediton Town Council, donations by visitors, fees for Family History research and subscriptions to the society.

The Society is also in need of the Membership Secretary. It has just under 100 members and sends them newsletters every three or four months and, of course, papers for the annual general meeting.

The job will entail the maintenance of a spread sheet of contact details and the processing of the newsletters prepared by the Newsletter Editor.

If you can help with or are interested in either of these roles please get in touch by calling David Nation on telephone 01363 774441 or email: [email protected] .
