Talking to some of our readers, I found that most would agree that houses are needed in the town, but the infrastructure cannot cope and needs improving first. Most people felt that the Link Road was not built for the lorries, but for the houses! What do you think? Please let me know. What you told us ..........
We think the infrastructure of the town should be improved before they start building new houses. Exeter Road also needs to be improved. We do need more houses, but the infrastructure needs to be improved first. Schools are already struggling with class sizes. Margaret and Bert Jewell, Crediton
The road was not put in for the lorries, it is far too steep and the extra fumes will be bad for the children living in the new houses. I cannot understand why they did not go with the valley route. We will still get lorries going through Exeter Road and the town towards Barnstaple. George Davey, Crediton
They are planning to build all these houses but the schools and sewerage system cannot cope. There will be more pollution especially in Exeter Road, because lorries that go to Barnstaple will still go through the town. Many of the new house won't be bought by locals, but by people from outside the area. Valerie Smith, Crediton
I don't think they should be building houses on green field sites. Being an ex-farmer I don't like to see houses being built on good agricultural land. Local Resident.
