THE ethos of the Crediton Courier is your news, your views, your faces, your places.
We like to focus on local news and during the past year we have covered a wide range of topics that we feel are relevant to our readers in Crediton and the surrounding area. As well as news and "feel good" stories the team at the Courier have included sports, a letters page, property, advertising and local business features, farming, local council, schools, events and Views on the News.
Our aim is to keep our readers informed of what’s happening in the area.
In December we published a book Those were the Days... a historic record including thousands of local faces featured in the Courier over the past 40 years.
We appreciate all the stories, photographs and information sent in by our readers - long may this continue.

What you told us ...
Many people say "TGIF" (Thank God It’s Friday!) because it signals the end of the week. I say it too, but partly because it is Courier Day! I look forward to the paper’s coverage of a variety of topics from the Referendum to the local election. All subjects are covered without bias and often with humour. It is good to read about the many active and sporting groups, but my favourite is the letters page. This allows people to damn or praise, and raise issues as varied as air quality and coffee shops. For those who do not favour the pen there is often the chance to comment in Nora’s column, a welcome edition to the paper.
For those with an interest in local history the Courier has recently published an excellent pictorial kaleidoscope of Crediton over the ages. The photographs, some black and white, are eye-catching and there is also a scattering of old Courier articles.

I enjoy looking through the photographs, it’s always nice to see if I recognise the people in them. I prefer the local stories rather than the national stories. I miss the little features about anniversaries and the wedding photographs we used to see in the Courier. The paper is handy to find local businesses you feel you can trust, and the Courier is always fair to all the traders. I like reading this column - it’s nice to see a photograph and to read snippets giving readers views. I also like the competitions especially those for children - it encourages younger people to read the paper. I also like the letters - as long as they are short and local. Keep up the good work.

I mainly read the news and events in the Crediton Courier to find out what’s going on locally. I’m quite happy with the paper and wouldn’t want to change anything.

I think it’s an extremely good publication. I normally read the council reports to find out about what’s happening in the town. I think the Crediton Courier captures the spirit of Crediton. I’ve been reading it for the last 37 years!

The Courier keeps me informed of who does what in an area I love. A mix of investigative journalism is welcome with all the pictures of friends and acquaintances. Keep it up!
PS Keep encouraging readers to write in.

I think it’s absolutely lovely. There’s always something in it and I like to read all of it to find out what’s going on in the town.
