UPDATE: Higher Road has been cleared and traffic has returned to normal.

Devon and Cornwall Police say Six Mile Hill, Tedburn St Mary is closed both ways due to an overturned car between Pathfinder turn off and Oldridge turn off. Traffic is coping well.

HIGHER Road at Crediton between Barnstaple Cross and George Hill, was closed this morning because a van had skidded on ice and landed on its side against a hedge.

It was understood the driver was safe. Police at the scene were not sure when the road would be cleared. They said the road was extremely icy and warned against even trying to walk on it.

Six Mile Hill at Tedburn St Mary was blocked this morning by an overturned van that had skidded on the ice. It was understood the driver was unharmed.

Roads where drains are blocked and over flowing with water are still very icy.
