A MUSICAL feast was provided to entertain an attentive audience at Crediton Parish Church by Crediton Town Band on Saturday, May 16.

The occasion was the band’s Spring Concert, with Musical Director Iorwerth Pugh introducing each item of music.

The programme included the march Thundercrest, the Thunderbirds theme tune, Rhythm of Life, How Great Thou Art, Men of Harlech and many more.

There were solos by Steve Forster and Kate Brown and an introduction by former band member John Glanfield (94), who joined the band in 1947 and talked about the march he wrote, Black and Gold, which are Queen Elizabeth’s and Crediton Rugby Club colours.

The Ad Hoc Choir sang anthems, Jolene, I Love Coffee and Goodnight Sweetheart amongst others.

It was a very successful concert.
