10am to 4pm, to May 26, Crediton Arts Centre Summer Arts Exhibition, Crediton Arts Centre, free.

11.50am - Gather for 12 noon Wreath Laying Service, Remembering the Iraq War – 15 Years On, Crediton Royal British Legion at the War Memorial, Crediton.

12.30pm to 2pm - Sandwiches & Stories at The Bookery with varied themes in a warm space with summer sandwiches & warm conversation. Free of charge, open to all, no booking required.

6.45pm - Doors open for 7.30pm talk, The Amazing Dr Muden from Butterleigh, illustrated talk by Elly Babbedge, Thorverton WI Hut, visitors welcome.

SATURDAY 23

Devon County Show.

10am to 12 noon - The Friends of Crediton Church (Holy Cross) coffee morning, Boniface Centre, all welcome.

10.30am to 2pm - Crediton Bowls Taster Day, Crediton Bowling Club, give bowls a try, free, all welcome.

12 noon - to late, Morfest, Morchard Bishop Festival, The London Inn Fields (pub will be closed on the day, everything will be outside), live music from local bands, comedy, local performers, barbecue and other food options, bar, stalls, bouncy castle, take cash, a family day out, tickets from The London Inn, Church Street Stores, parish councillors, advance tickets adults £25, children £10, on the day £30 adults, £10 children.

1.30pm - Sampford Courtenay Family Dog Show, Village Hall, judging starts 2pm, enter on the day, £1 per class, fun classes, refreshments, tombola, all proceeds to the Village Green Enhancement.

7pm - Doors open for 7.30pm film, May December, a psychological black comedy drama, starring Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore, presented by The Last Thursday Picture Show, Crediton Arts Centre, bar, tea, coffee, puddings, £5 on the door or in advance from creditonartscentre.org

7pm - for a 7.30pm start, Folk Duo Steve Turner (accordion) and Helena Torpy (violin) to perform in Colebrooke Church, refreshments during interval, entry by donation, suggested £10 per person, profits to church funds.

SUNDAY 24

Lunchtime - Picnic in the Park, after the morning services, at Newcombes Meadow band stand (or the Methodist Church if wet), bring a picnic, Crediton Town Band to play from 2pm, everyone welcome, organised by Christians Together in Crediton to celebrate the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity.

TUESDAY 26

6.30pm - Annual Town Meeting, Crediton Town Square.

WEDNESDAY 27

10am to 1pm - Summer Craft Activities for children 5+ at The Bookery. Free event, no booking required.

THURSDAY 28

2pm to 3pm – Crediton Courier drop–in, Crediton Library.

FRIDAY 29

10am to 6pm - and Saturday, May 30 and on Sunday, May 31 from 11am to 5pm, South West Quilters exhibition, Crediton Parish Church, 100 quilts on display, church vestments, tombola, bric-a-brac stalls and the Newton St Cyres Art Group Exhibition. Admission will be £2 (under 16s free) with proceeds shared between the church and the Daisy Garland Charity. Please note no dogs will be allowed, other than assistance dogs.

6.30pm - Upham Methodist Church Songs of Praise Evening, led by Rev N Lakin and Band, chaired by Jackie Hooper, collection for Children’s Hospice SW, refreshments at close, all welcome (EX17 4HN)

7pm - Local author Kate Lord Brown discussing her sweeping new novel, The Silver Thread at The Bookery. Tickets £5 from the Bookshop or at www.thebookery.org.uk. Ticketholders receive 15% off purchases of The Silver Thread on the evening.
