THE Royal British Legion Poppy wreaths for businesses and other town venues have now been distributed.

Organisations and individuals will be laying wreaths at the Crediton Town and Hamlets War Memorial at timed slots.

There will be no house-to-house or street collections this year.

Poppies will however be available and collections made at Crediton’s Morrisons store until November 7.

There will also be poppies available and a collection of donations at Crediton’s Tesco store at Wellparks until November 11.

Shoppers are asked to take along some cash which they can put into the buckets.

To support the Poppy Appeal from your own home and do your own fundraising with family and friends, find out more information at: rbl.org.uk/poppyappeal . Poppy posters are available online for printing and display and blank ones available for children to colour.

The Royal British Legion says that every poppy makes a difference to the lives of our Armed Forces community - past, present and future.

It is calling on the public to support the charity like never before, because every poppy counts.

The public is being asked to observe Remembrance on their own doorsteps. Maroons will be fired over Crediton at 11am on November 11.

Jane Sansom, Crediton Poppy Appeal Organiser, said: “Thank You to everyone who has supported the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal so far, from businesses to individuals. Poppies and collecting boxes will still be in situ at premises that are allowed to remain open during Lockdown.

“Many places have more than just paper poppies, there are 2020 badges available along with DDay and VE Day badges and other merchandise. Every donation will help, Remembrance is not just at this time of year but all year round”.
