WHEN pupils of Cheriton Bishop Primary School staged their Christmas play it was a world premiere. Although there was no red carpet, the television cameras were there.

They were part of the production. A show written especially for Cheriton Bishop by Richard and Nicola Miners.

Richard runs Mid Devon Music, with Cheriton Bishop being one of the schools where he teaches. His wife, Nicola, teaches the school’s senior pupils.

They got together and wrote the delightful musical show telling the story of the Nativity through the news media with the television crew and interviewer, including the weather forecast.

There were three performances of Bethlehem News over two days in Cheriton Bishop Parish Church next to the school.
