THE Turning Tides Project is a Community Interest Company that aims to make equal access to music, the arts and life a reality for people with "learning disability" or "autism" labels.
We hope that many local people are already well aware of us whether you’ve seen our Big Band perform, bought produce from our pop up shop, participated in our sports sessions, listened to our radio podcast, joined a music session or taken part in the Heritage Lottery funded project we are facilitating at The former Palace Cinema (Buccaneer’s Bar). Every thing we do is open and #inclusive.
We are very excited to announce that The Turning Tides Project has taken over the lease of Crediton Station Tea Rooms.
To celebrate the re-opening of The Tea Rooms on August 4, there will be an opening event which will include open mic, live music, a café and a chance to view the space we’ve created.
The Tea Rooms will provide volunteering opportunities and supported employment and a base for our catering service, shop and gardening scheme.
It will also provide community space for some of our open and inclusive music and arts sessions.
The rooms will be available for use by other community organisations for workshops and meetings too.
We anticipate there will some space to exhibit art work and we’re also happy to talk with local artists and crafts people about stocking your work in our shop.
Over the next two months we will be working hard to update the décor and fittings and improve the accessibility. There’s a lot to do: if you can contribute your time and skills or have things you would like to donate that we might need, please contact us.
Whether you’d like to join some sessions, contribute some time and skills, donate some equipment or materials, exhibit some art work, provide stock for our shop, book a room or be part of our opening event ... Please get in touch.
The next step of the journey towards making Crediton the first #inclusive Community , starts here! Come and be a part of it.
