A TALK with the title "The Pirate, The Fraudster and The Crediton Fire of 1743" will be held at the Boniface Centre in Crediton on Monday, January 9.
Elly Babbedge will explore what local influences led to a little boy wanting to be a millionaire, and looks at how he responded when his family was in danger in the great fire of Crediton in 1743.
The talk is being organised by Crediton Area History and Museum Society and will begin at 7.30pm.
The cost will be £1 for members and £4 for non-members.
Refreshments will be served and all are welcome to attend.
