UNFORTUNATELY the Tedburn St Mary annual fair is not proceeding this year - but all is not lost.

Having consulted with the fair organisers, The Kings Arms is running a weekend of events to hopefully “fill the gap” for this year and offer entertainment and raise funds for next year’s fair.

A spokesperson for the village pub said: “The fun begins on Friday, September 11 with the start of local producers’ Cider and Ale Festival.

“We are featuring local produce throughout the weekend supporting our local farming community and showcasing some of the best produce in the world that surrounds us.

“From 5pm we will be holding one of our extremely popular hog roasts and then enjoying live music from the fantastic “Blinding Violet”.

“On Saturday, September 12 we begin the day with our amazing charcoal BBQ featuring meat raised on Dartmoor. This will run all day from midday. We also have Punch and Judy, a magic show and balloon modelling.

“We are then joined at 5pm by Les, The Soulman, playing favourite tunes from the 70s, 80s and 90s.

“At 7.30pm we are hosting live music with (probably!) THE best ABBA Tribute act on the circuit “Take A Chance on Us”.

“If you would like to dine it is important to book as the ABBA show is always very popular. The evening will be rounded off by Les, The Soulman – a fantastic day with lots going on!

“Sunday, September 13 features our scrumptious carvery with the finest local produce - roast joints and fresh seasonal vegetables supplied by our local farming heroes.

“As fun as this all is, it is also a fund raising event for Tedburn St Mary Annual Fair 2027 with draws and raffles taking place over the weekend.
