THE “Crediton Courier” newspaper has been proudly serving Crediton and the area since 1974.

It is run by people who live locally and know the issues facing our local readers and loyal advertisers.

Our ethos is: “Your news, your views, your faces, your places.”

The “Courier” is read by thousands of people every week in a printed format and also on-line on our website: www.creditoncourier.co.uk , as well as on “Facebook” and “Twitter”.

The “Courier” has come a long way since the first issue in December 1974 when it was a monthly publication, then proceeding to a fortnightly publication and some years ago becoming a weekly title.

The “Courier” is now a digital lead, meaning news stories appear on-line, on occasion within minutes or hours and these are then shared on our social media sites. We are often the first to break the news.

Additionally, about 50 people receive the “Courier” on memory stick, the Crediton Talking Newspaper, recorded especially for those with little or no sight by volunteers organised by the “Courier” and the Lions Club of Crediton and supporters.

Advertisers are pleased to support the “Courier” and we appreciate this support which ensures we are able to continue publishing.

In a world where digital media is becoming stronger and national newspapers are suffering, it is a great credit to our supporters, that our local newspaper goes from strength-to-strength.

We try to ensure that it contains interesting editorials and photographs and believe it is a ’paper with a strong identity reflecting the important local views of the community.

In addition to supporting the commercial aspects of the town, we aim to reflect the interests and concerns of our readers and campaign on your behalf.

Always jam-packed with the local Crediton and area news, we hope you will continue to call us the “go to’ ‘paper for all things Crediton’.”
