TEDBURN Amateur Dramatic Society (TADS) staged Robin Hood and The Babes in the Wood by TLC Creative in January and not only performed to full houses and appreciative audiences but also raised considerable sums of money.
The Society chose four charities as beneficiaries from this year’s pantomime, which was staged on January 25 and January 29, 30 and 31.

The charities selected were Tedburn St Mary Village Hall, where productions staged, Dementia UK, Devon Air Ambulance and The Deaf Academy.
The Society Chair, Linda Bellshaw, recently held a presentation ceremony to award recipients from each of the four charities £350 each.
Margaret Jones, chairman, Tedburn St Mary Village Hall, thanked TADS for the generous donation and said that the money would go towards improvements to the Hall. She explained that the Hall committee was looking at £100,000 worth of improvements to the hall over the next few years.

Frederick Caygill, Volunteer Ambassador for the South West with Dementia UK said that its donation would help fund specialist admiral nurses who do a fabulous job assisting family carers of those with dementia.
Marilyn MacQueen received the donation for Devon Air Ambulance and said that it would be used to provide baby resuscitation packs which would be carried on each of the two Devon Air Ambulances.

Rachel Stevens, on behalf of The Deaf Academy at Exmouth, said that the donation would be used to help students who are deaf and have additional complex needs.
TADS is an amateur dramatic group which was formed in 1953.

It produces yearly pantomimes and other shows and supports charitable causes.
New members are welcome, to either perform or help with scenery/costumes/ lighting, basically anything to do with our shows.
