A ROYAL Street Market to mark the 90th birthday of HM the Queen will be held at Sandford tomorrow, Saturday June 11, from 12 noon to 4pm.

The Street Market will be held in and around Church Street, weather permitting (in Sandford Parish Hall if wet).

The Honourable Mrs Elizabeth d’Erlanger (Deputy Lieutenant of Devon) will perform the grand opening at 12 noon on St Swithun’s church steps and will be introduced by Crediton Town Crier, Kevin Payne.

The event will feature street entertainment, a fairground organ, stalls, grand draw, lunches and cream teas.

The Sandford Orchards vintage lorry “Old Garge” will make its first public appearance.

There will be prizes for historial fancy dress and prizes for the best dressed “Royal” stalls.

Sandford School will be open during the afternoon for viewing of the pupil’s artworks of the Queen.

In the evening a celebration Ceilidh will be held at the parish hall from 7.30pm with dancing to “Mrs Midnight’s Ceilidh Band”.
