STELLA Ahier will tackle the Tarka Trail Trek over two days starting on Wednesday, March 30, in support of the Holy Cross Crediton Campaign Roof Appeal.
She is a member of the Holy Cross Choir, the North Creedy Choir, the East Devon Choral Society and co-ordinator of the annual Crediton Christmas Tree Festival.
In total Stella will be walking a distance of 60kms from Meeth to Saunton along the Tarka Trail following a route that largely follows a disused railway line which offers extensive views, industrial and railway heritage and is a wonderful haven for wildlife.
Stella (45), has lived in Crediton for three years and every five years likes to do something different to mark each five yearly mile-stone.
In the past Stella has climbed Mount Kinnabulu in Borneo with a group of friends and completed a 40km march organised by the Royal Military Police in Chichester with a group of work colleagues.
Stella is currently training hard for the Tarka Trail Trek by exploring all the back bye-ways and footpaths in the Crediton, Posbury, Sandford and Shobrooke areas and this month hopes to complete a couple of longer training walks along the Grand Western Canal and Exeter Canal.
If anyone would like to sponsor Stella, sponsorship are available in the Parish Church.

The Holy Cross Crediton Campaign Roof Appeal is raising funds for extensive roof and high level masonry repairs that have been divided into three phases.
The first phase has a target of £600,000 of which £65,500 has so far been raised.
