CREDITON Station's flower beds, maintained by Friends of Crediton Station, and the floral tubs at Morchard Road Station won both a first prize in the 2009 Tarka Line Station Gardens Competition. This garden is maintained by Alan and Ann Clark.

Awarding Morchard Road the prize for the Best Garden Tubs along the line, First Great Western Station Manager, Melanie Harvey (herself a keen gardener), commented: "First Great Western is delighted to be sponsoring the Tarka Line's annual station flower competition.

"This year the standard was particularly high, and the finished results are a real treat for passengers travelling the line. First Great Western congratulates Morchard Road and Crediton Stations and everyone involved for their hard work!"
