ON the last Saturday of each month, St Matthew’s Parish Church in Cheriton Fitzpaine is usually alive with people meeting friends over coffee. There are stalls with books, cakes, crafts etc.
However, due to Covid this has been in abeyance for more than a year. On Saturday, April 24 some intrepid members took the plunge and arranged for stalls outside the Church.
Church Warden, Alice May was in the cake stall, which did a brisk trade, and Stella Swain had craft accessories of all sorts.
On the Church Path, Church Warden, Hazel Norton, who is a professional gardener, was inundated with folk buying plants and was looking forward to the easing of lockdown, so that visitors can meet inside the Church.
On Saturday, May 8, from 10 am the Parish Hall Committee has organised another "Market on the Move".
Maps (and their famous bacon butties) will be available from the Hall. Go along and enjoy a morning out.Mary Nunn
