ST Nicholas Fair, which has become a popular annual event in Crediton, took place on Saturday, November 19, in the Boniface Centre.

The fair, which is a major annual fund raising event for Crediton Parish Church raised £1,120.

This year the funds raised will go towards the day-to-day running of the church and paying the utility bills amongst other things, rather than the repairs to the fabric of the building.

There were a number of stalls including the Holy Trinity Church, Yeoford selling local apple juice, the Mothers’ Union selling cakes, Christmas cards and decorations, new and nearly new ladies’ shoes (mostly sizes five and five and have a half), handbags and jewellery, jigsaws and boxed games, books, CDs and vinyl records. There were also stalls run by Yeoford Yarns, Bridge Books from Exeter and other churches.

A grand raffle and a silent auction were held at the fair.

Refreshments were available for visitors and included cakes, soup, filled rolls, tea and coffee.
