A SPONSORED walk in aid of the Devon Historic Churches Trust is this year once again being organised by Susan Gales.

Susan writes: “A group of folk from St Mary’s Church, Morchard Bishop will be going on a sponsored walk on Saturday, September 9 to raise money for the Devon Historic Churches Trust.

“This is an annual event and each year we try to raise some money for the Trust because in the past we have had the benefit of a grant from it for repair work on our church.

“Half of all the money we raise comes to our funds and the rest goes to the Trust.

“We will meet in the village car park in Morchard Bishop at 10am and drive to Cheriton Fitzpaine for coffee in their church.

“We plan to continue walking and riding by turns going on to Poughill and Puddington churches. We will picnic in Puddington and everyone needs to bring their own picnic lunch.

“Lists to sign up as walkers, drivers or sponsors are now available in St Mary’s Church. Here’s hoping for a fine day and plenty of support!”
