MANY of you will have noticed a set of temporary scaffolding steps on Crediton Town Square leading to R and G Barbershop and Shaving Parlour which have been erected by South West Water (SWW) while emergency remedial works to the sewer are carried out.

A South West Water spokesperson told the “Courier:” “We are currently carrying out essential maintenance on the sewer in Market Street, Crediton.

“Our work began last month and is expected to last around six weeks.

“In order to complete this work as safely and quickly as possible, we have closed a small section of Market Street outside of R and G Barbershop.

“We have maintained access to the barbershop by erecting temporary scaffolding and stairs to their first floor, and we will work with any other businesses who may be impacted as the work develops.

“We would like to thank customers and the nearby businesses for their patience and understanding while we carry out this essential work.”
