10.30am - Chawleigh Celebrates, coffee morning in Chawleigh Parish Church in aid of Royal British Legion; church bells will ring in the evening. 4pm - At the Earl of Portsmouth- Display of World War Two memorabilia; 5-8pm - food available; 7.30pm - Exeter Morris display; 8.30pm - Live music; 9.15pm - Anniversary prayers by Elaine Cook, reading by David Richardson; 9.30pm - Lighting of Peace lamp; 9.35pm Tribute and singing; 10pm 1940’s music.

11am - Sampford Courtenay Church VE Day 80th Celebrations, Service of Remembrance in the Square by the War Memorial followed by light refreshments in the Church Rooms and display of wartime posters and memorabilia.

2pm to 3pm - Crediton Courier Drop In, Crediton Library.

3pm to 5pm - VE Day Memories Drop In, The Reminiscence Project, Crediton Library, share your memories.

6pm - Exhibition about Spreyton’s contribution to the war effort, Spreyton Village Hall, schoolchildren singing wartime songs, barbecue with refreshments, beacon lit at 9.30pm.

7pm - for 7.30pm, Supporting Swifts in Towns and Villages, a Sustainable Crediton illustrated talk with Edward Mayer of Swift Conservation. Crediton Congregational Church, 98 High Street. Free admission. Refreshments available.

7.30pm to 10pm - VE Day in Coldridge, Commemoration and Beacon Lighting, Coldridge Village Hall, pasty supper and bar, beacon at 9.30pm approximately, Coldridge Sunshine Singers.

10am to 1pm - VE Day in North Tawton, coffee morning, Town Hall, stalls, war-time cake, fish and chips van from 11am, raffle 12 noon.

11am to 3pm - VE Day in Crediton, A Very Vintage Picnic, Newcombes Meadow, in the bandstand, Crediton Town Band, Morris Dancing, CODS and friends, Swing 3 Jazz Trio. Falconry, barrel organ, vintage engines, balloon modeller, bar, food and craft stalls, youth activities, Scouts, Army Cadets, Lions, organised by Crediton Town Council.

11am to 4pm - Plant Sale, Crediton Bowling Club, in aid of Bowling Club funds, all plants welcome.

12 noon - History and Politics Book Club at the Bookery, discussion will be centred around Beyond the Wall: East Germany, 1949 – 1990 by Katja Hoya.

10.30am - Chawleigh Parish Church: Special Service of Morning Prayer to Mark the 80th Anniversary of VE Day.

2pm to 5pm - and Sunday, June 15, Open Garden, 4 Golden Joy, Crediton, EX17 1EA, in aid of Hospiscare, plant stall, tombola, refreshments, teas and cake, all welcome, no dogs.

7.15pm - for 7.30pm start, Bow and District History Society, talk by Dr Catherine Ross, Met Office and National Meteorological Archive Manager, on “from sorcery to super computers”, Bow Village Hall. Open to everyone, free to members or just £4 on the night for visitors.

10am to 10.45am - Crediton Neighbourhood Policing Team PCSO Nikki Payne and a representative from Mid Devon District Council housing team will be available to speak to in the vicinity of the village shop in Cheriton Bishop, followed by joint agency walkabouts in the village.
