Skipping to a record
IN AN attempt to smash the world skipping record, pupils at a Crediton school joined thousands of children across the UK in a three-minute skip-a-thon.
The youngsters at Hayward's Primary School took part in the Guinness World Record Skipping Challenge at 11am on April 30.
A total of 120 children from the school started skipping at precisely the same time as more than 17,000 other children from schools around the country.
Class teacher, Mrs Noreen Faulkner, said skipping was an easy and effective way for the children to keep fit and healthy.
"It went very well and everyone enjoyed it.
"Some of the staff took part and they did well too.
"I would like to thank our two adjudicators, Gillian Ponsford and John Bryant, who saw that we did it properly.
"I am really pleased that we have been part of this record-breaking attempt."
