AFTER a bad start on Monday morning, when the High Street road closure and diversions started to take effect, the situation is now slowly improving.

St Saviours Way and Searle Street are now open and allow parking to a limited area of Crediton High Street, although there is still no through access on the High Street.

This will help shoppers to access High Street shops and businesses more easily.

Staff from South West Water and R&M Utilities have offered to help

traders, shoppers and drivers with deliveries or loading vehicles - so if you need help, just ask.

A number of road signs have now been put in place around the town telling people that Crediton is still open for business, although more are still needed.

Please shop in the town and support your local traders.
