NEWTON St Cyres Arboretum is one of three shortlisted projects for a grant under the Tesco “Bags of Help” scheme for the area.

Shoppers to Tesco stores in Crediton, Exeter, Exmouth, Sidmouth and Axminster can vote for their favoured project and the one with the most votes gets £5,000, the second gets £2,000 and the third gets £1,000.

The voting period ends on January 28 and to vote you will need to make a purchase within the store, of any value.

You will receive one token per transaction and it is not necessary to purchase a carrier bag in order to receive a token.

Newton St Cyres Parish Council says that if it received grant money it would be used to widen the use and appreciation of the Arboretum by providing an all-weather route suitable for wheelchairs and by developing an Information Trail customised for child visitors.
