OUR walk on Friday, September 15 took us to Shobrooke, and starting out from close to the Red Lion we headed up the road to gain the footpath leading across fields towards Little Gutton where we followed the path beside a field of maize and a lane to pass Moor Farm.
As the weather was still warm we saw several species of butterfly and buzzards circling in this area.
From here we crossed over the road and along the path through fields and over a bridge to a steady climb up to Pennicott Farm from where we returned to Shobrooke passing the tree and its rubber tyre used as a swing which has now been painted and had a seat fitted inside.
A number of us then made use of the local hostelry which was a pleasant end to the walk.
We are currently looking to recruit Volunteer Walk Leaders for the Crediton area. If you are interested and would like more information please contact Claire Ridge.
Crediton Walk and Talk group meets fortnightly at Lords Meadow Leisure Centre at 9.45am.
Walks start from the Leisure Centre or nearby villages and take around 90 minutes, covering about three miles but this does not include travelling times.
Anyone is welcome and walks are free to join. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome, as long as they are kept on a short lead.
The next walk is on Friday, September 29.
