FAMILIES of children at Sandford School made generous donations to Crediton Foodbank as part of the School’s Harvest celebrations.

Hannah Fee, Head of Sandford School, said: “A representative from Crediton Foodbank visited us for a school assembly.

“She told us all about the importance of donating the right things to the Foodbank so we are helping the people who need it the most.

“She showed us a video about ‘Foodbank Fortnight’, which runs from October 1 to 15, and told us about the “Bank the Food” app, which has up to date information on what is most needed at Crediton Foodbank right now.

“We were overwhelmed by the volume of donations made by our families and know they are making a really big difference in our wider community.”

Crediton Foodbank is an initiative of Crediton Foodbank Charity to support local people in financial hardship.

It believes that no one in our community should have to face hunger.

Located in the heart of Crediton, it can provide emergency food support to individuals and families in crisis.

Founded in 2011, The Crediton Foodbank is a volunteer-led organisation that relies on the generosity of the local community.

It has a team of passionate volunteers who work tirelessly to collect, sort, and distribute food donations to those who need it most.

It partners with local churches, schools, businesses, and individuals who share its commitment to tackling food poverty.

In addition to food parcels, it offers a listening ear, practical advice, and signposting to further support services such as debt advice and energy advice.
