CROFTS House in Sandford has secured its fourth industry award this year.

The development was delivered using Modern Methods of Construction (MMC), with homes manufactured off-site and installed onsite in a matter of days, resulting in minimal disruption to neighbouring properties.

The homes, built in partnership with Zed Pods, welcomed new tenants in June 2025 and consists of five one-bedroom flats. Designed to be highly energy efficient, the homes are zero-operational carbon, helping to reduce energy costs for residents.

Crofts House’s four major awards this year are: Neighbourhood Transformation at Aico Community Awards 2026; Sustainability and Circular Construction at Industrialised Construction Awards 2026; MMC Project of the Year at Construction News Awards 2026; and Residential Project of the Year at Construction Excellence Southwest Awards 2026.

Councillor Jane Lock (Lib Dem, Canonsleigh) said: “This is a brilliant example of high-quality rural housing delivery, designed from the outset to meet local housing need and demonstrate how we can help sustain our village communities.

“A huge well-done to everyone involved in delivering the project, and to those whose day-to-day work now supports our tenants in their fantastic, truly affordable new homes.”
