WELL-KNOWN Chulmleigh resident, Mrs Christine Smith, has been raising funds for the Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) since 1974 and at a coffee morning, held in Chulmleigh Town Hall last week she raised a further £420.
Mr Barrie Goodfellow and his guide dog, Marshall, went along to the event to thank the organisers for all of their efforts and then made a surprise announcement!
In total, over the years, Christine has raised three-quarters-of-a-million pounds for this organisation and Barrie congratulated her by presenting her with an engraved glass marking the occasion.
