LAPFORD Revel Fayre, held on the village playing field, went with a swing on Saturday afternoon (July 14), with plenty going on for everyone.
Circus Berzercus were on the stage to entertain with magic and many of the little ones were invited to help with the tricks. There was also plate spinning and an Hoola Hoop event.
In keeping with the Summer of Love theme there was 60s music, and classic 60s comedy sketches by Lapford Amateur Dramatic Society.
Stalls included crafts, sweets, jewellery and more, plus a superb dog agility demonstration by the Lapford Dog Club. There was a bird display with owls.
The barbecue and beer and tea tents saw a good trade.
The rain held off, and it was a lovely warm afternoon.
In The Ark, cream teas and cakes were served, and upstairs there was an Art Exhibiton by Rebecca Holley, Tim Salter and Chris Rees, inspired by Lapford Old School.
ROSE AND SWEET PEA SHOW
There were 88 entries at the Lapford Rose and Sweet Pea Show, held on the Tuesday of Revel Week and judges were Ed and Pat Sherwood.
Awards for most points in the Show went to Trisha Mumford, runner-up was Eileen Ridd and in third place was Joan Graham.
Noel Parry and Jeanne Whittaker ran the draw.
Other prize winners included Edna Copus, Noel Parry, Paul Tebble and Pat West.
Paul and Eileen Ridd kept busy in the kitchen serving refreshments.
