THE blatant disregard for timings and resident safety is still a major issue as yet another lorry drove through Willow Walk in Crediton before the agreed time on August 15.

The fact there is no control on access of all site traffic to the Persimmon site is ridiculous.

There is no qualified banksman present and the disregard of the HASAW Act 1974 needs to be looked into.

I believe section seven of the HASAW Act mentions: "It is the responsibility of the employer and employee to endure the Health, Safety and Welfare of themselves and ANYONE who could be effected by their acts or omissions".

With no site access control in place, (access has been granted by the simple act of the temporary parking restriction on residents), a very real danger exists of possible damage and injury.

Where is the booking in/out of visits being monitored?

If a visible and accountable control for access to the site was put in place, a radio link could be established from the top of Bramble Lane to the site, and when lorries are attending they could be monitored and their speed controlled.

It has been mentioned that as Willow Walk is a public road and speed restrictions need not be imposed as the National speed limit applies is deemed sufficient, (but not always adhered to).

If the National Speed Limit is enough control in Willow Walk how come it has been necessary in Cowick Exeter to impose a speed restriction on a small road work area, as in most other similar sites across the region?

We, the residents, pay our taxes to the council for service.

All we are getting at present is an ethos of "shut up and live with it".

This is not good enough.

The contractor is not the rule maker.

Why are we not getting due and just service from our paid representatives?
