ONCE again traffic stopped in Crediton on Wednesday morning to remember those who had fallen in the wars since 1914.
A small crowd gathered at the Town and Hamlets War Memorial on Union Road, waiting for the maroon to signal the start of two minutes’ silence, a maroon sounding the end and the raising of the standards.
Cllr Clive Eginton, Leader Mid Devon District Council, laid a wreath on behalf of MDDC. Children from Pippins Pre-School and Nursery were lined up on one side of the Memorial, two of the children laying a big wreath they had made.
Many of the town shops and businesses ceased trading for the silence, some people standing still outside Crediton shops for the remembrance.
