QUEEN Elizabeth’s School in Crediton were thrilled with the success of their Year 5 and 6 Open events this week with a record number of families coming to see what the school can offer.

Attendance at the events was markedly higher than normal, with strong interest from both within the school’s catchment area and from further afield.

The Open Evening commenced with a presentation from the Principal, Rupert Poole, followed by tours of the campus led by student ambassadors.

This gave families the chance to meet teachers, explore each subject area and participate in a wide range of activities.

The activities were designed to give a small insight into the range of opportunities available including academic, sporting and in the arts.

Some were just to add some fun from cooking mini pizzas in Food Technology and creating dance tracks in Music to scaling the climbing wall in PE.

Many parents remarked on what great ambassadors the student guides were for the school.

As usual the school welcomed many familiar faces from local primary schools and QE’s outstanding results at A Level and its boarding facilities meant many families from Exeter and across Devon were also attracted to visit and find out more.

Parents commented on the school’s lovely atmosphere, how smart and well behaved the students they met were and on the friendliness of the welcome they received.

If you were unable to attend one of the events or would like a second look, just contact the school to arrange a visit telephone 01363 775871 or email: [email protected] .
