THE Crediton Branch of the Royal British Legion held a quiz and draw night at Club Crediton on Friday, December 1 and raised £120 for this year’s Poppy Appeal.

This brings the final total raised by the branch for this year to more than £11,000.

Thanks go to Gary Grant for the venue and Nigel Kelly for being a very entertaining and excellent quizmaster! Also thanks to Poppy’s Cafe, John Ingram, Crediton Pharmacy, Four Seasons, Oliver’s, Tesco Express and White Swan Taxis, to all those members who supplied the draw prizes and to Joan Grant for “hopping” around with one foot bandaged obtaining the prizes.

Those attending enjoyed a buffet and had a very successful social evening.

Please watch out for future events. A coach trip to the RBL National Memorial Arboretum at Staffordshire is being arranged for Wednesday, May 16 at £20 per seat.

For those on the Committee the next meeting will be at Club Crediton on Tuesday, January 23.
