WHEN shops open again tomorrow, Monday, April 12, so will the shop at Crediton’s Civic Amenity and Recycling Centre at the Punchbowl Recycling Centre.

The Centre’s shop has been closed like all the others which were deemed not essential.

Stocks have been gathering so now, as well as the shop, there is a tent-like structure where all the bigger furniture is stored for re-sale. It is always surprising what good buys can be found in the tent.

Numbers will be limited to three cars at a time on the shop parking area (there are spaces for disabled drivers too), two people per car, only 10 minutes browsing time and a limit of six items bought per car.

This is in anticipation of more people than usual wanting to see what other people have thrown out.

Certainly over the Easter weekend the Punchbowl Centre was extremely busy, especially having been closed for five days for resurfacing and other maintenance.

Many people had used the good weather for a clearout and garden trimming.

After its resurfacing and other maintenance work, the Punchbowl Centre now boasts crisp new road markings.
