CREDITON Chamber of Commerce is organising a public meeting to hear from police and councillors after a spate of break-ins and other problems in the town.

Tara Conabeare, chairman, Crediton Chamber of Commerce, said: “In light of the recent events in town - numerous break-ins and lots of anti-social behaviour - mainly caused by a select few - some of our members have been discussing having a meeting regarding this.

“The police have been keeping us posted on their progress regarding getting to the bottom of the break-in here at Evans News and they have advised me their is a meeting being held on September 19 at 7.15pm at the Boniface Centre.

“The councillors and the police will be present and will be talking about what the plans are for policing Crediton and surrounding areas.

“The meeting is open to the public so if you have an opinion on this or would like to have your say then please do attend.”

The meeting is in place of the meeting Ian Stoyle was going to arrange to discuss the matter.
