AS part of the Crediton Art Trail currently located in 42 business premises in the town as part of CredFest 2017, Crediton Arts Centre has sponsored a photography project.
Schools were invited to submit photographs on the theme of “A day in the life of Crediton”.
Children from Hayward’s Primary School and year 10 and the Sixth Form photography students at Queen Elizabeth’s School in Crediton submitted photographs which have been put onto a slideshow which is currently running continuously on the television screens in the windows of Helmores estate agents and The Technology Shop.
The photos will also be shown on the big tv at the Boniface Centre during this weekend while the Art Exhibition takes place.
The public is asked to vote for the best photographs from dozens submitted and Focal Point Imaging Ltd of Exeter has offered to print the winning photos, which will then be presented to the children.
As part of the introduction, Paul Cartwright showed the children slides of the photographs of everyday life in North Devon which had been produced by James Ravilious and which are contained in the Beaford Archive.
Votes can be made on the CredFest website, at the Boniface Centre and in the schools.
