THE Afternoon Concert staged by Crediton Town Band on the lawns at Downes, Crediton, by kind permission of Henry and Susan Parker, has raised £1,050 for Prostate Cancer UK thanks to generous donations, Band Chairman Chris Richards has confirmed.
About 200 people attended the concert on Sunday, August 17.
The band played a range of tunes including marches, an Abba medley, “Eternal Flame” by The Bangles, “The Band from the Harbour Wall” penned by Alfie Pugh, the son of the musical director, Iorwerth Pugh, some tunes with audience participation, plus many others.
The band will next play from 2.30pm on October 11 in Crediton Parish Church for a Memorial Concert for former Band Musical Director Chris Taylor.
Light refreshments will be served afterwards in the Boniface Centre.
