THE Shobrooke Parish Church Family service held at St Swithun’s Church on Sunday, March 13 included a prayer focus for the people of Ukraine.
Children wrote peace prayers and the Ukrainian National Anthem was played on the organ, whilst people were invited to light a candle.
A total of £142 was collected for the DEC appeal.
There were also prayers for other countries at war, Yeman, Ethiopia, Afghanistan and Syria.
To conclude the service our National Anthem was sung.
A tree was then planted in the churchyard in readiness for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations, at which time the tree will be dedicated.
