DURING the evening of Friday, July 13, Crediton Policing Team carried out some Licensing Inspections along with colleagues in both Police and Mid Devon District Council Licensing Teams.
Together they carried out checks for possible drug use surrounding such premises and advised local landlords on how to protect themselves from such activities taking place on their premises.
PC Katie McMahon, explained: “Those who took part included Local Officers from our Response and Neighbourhood Policing Teams as well as our colleagues from the Special Constabulary, who volunteer their time to Police the local community.
“This proactive policing operation was as a result of vital intelligence gathered from the community and helps us strive to improve our connectivity with those that we serve.
“The team at Crediton, although small, take the comments of the community seriously and work hard to do what they can to improve fear and the impacts of criminality on the local community.
“This is not always an easy task but we can be grateful of the fact that we do live in a safe neighbourhood and that our community cares.
“We will continue to work with you, the public, to target serious crime and criminality in your local neighbourhoods and will prioritise those matters that present serious risk and harm with a focus on safeguarding the vulnerable in our community.
“The operation successfully increased policing visibility, helping us detect and deter crime in Crediton and was only made possible by the support of our Special Constabulary colleagues.”
