CHERITON Fitzpaine Community Shop has now been in operation for 10 months, and is hugely popular with residents.
Under Manager, Kevin Boddy, volunteers are coping well with the till and friendly and are cheerful to everyone.
A new initiative, introduced by Kevin, is to collect some plastic items, which may be recycled for Ellie’s Fund, which is part of the Brain Tumour Research Support charity. Brain Tumour is currently the biggest cancer killer of children.
Items which may be recycled include: Plastic biscuit, cake and cracker wrappers, crisp packets, writing instruments, cleaning product tops, pet food pouches, oral care products and contact lens and packaging.
There is a dedicated bin outside the Shop, which is sited in the middle of the village next to the Methodist Church.
